Prosthodontics focuses on the treatment and replacement of missing teeth, which includes restoring natural teeth to improve the look of your smile.

At George Dental, our prosthodontics treatments include dental implants, dental bridges, dentures and partial dentures, porcelain crowns, caps, inlays, and onlays. The objective of each of these treatments is restoring the confidence in your smile, and improving the appearance of your teeth.

Dental Implants

Dental implants are used to replace a tooth that has been lost, and will function and look just like the original tooth did. The implant is matched to the shape, color, and appearance of the other teeth, making it unnoticeable to someone looking at your smile. An implant looks so much like your other teeth that it will keep your confidence in your smile intact. Dental implants can also be utilized to replace an entire missing arch of teeth or to enhance the fit of partial or complete dentures.

Dental Bridges

Dental bridges can be used to fix partial tooth loss by cementing a replacement tooth to healthy ones. Bridges involve joining an artificial tooth permanently to adjacent teeth or dental implants. These are often used as an alternative to an implant.

Dentures

Dentures and partial dentures are needed when you have completely or partially lost your teeth. This will help prevent bone loss, the inability to chew correctly, pain in the jaw, or loss of tissue support. A partial loss can be repaired with partial dentures. Dentures are easy to remove and clean. There are also permanent dentures that do not come out that the dentist can install for those who want a more secure fix.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are thin shells of porcelain that fit snugly over the front surfaces of the teeth. Veneers have the unique ability to completely mask unattractive stains, gaps or chips. They naturally absorb and reflect light allowing them to appear entirely real. Porcelain veneers are affixed to the front surfaces of teeth with a dental adhesive. At George Dental, we can use veneers to change the color, shape, texture, length or width of your teeth. They can also be used to cover the appearance of spaces between teeth.

Porcelain Crowns & Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain crowns, commonly referred to as caps, are used to create an improvement to the appearance of your tooth and are often used for broken teeth or those damaged by cracks and cavities.

Porcelain Inlays & Onlays

Porcelain inlays and onlays are another popular method of tooth restoration used by the professionals at George Dental. When you are restoring a tooth, you have to look at the amount of decay and fracture it has endured. In these cases your dentist will need to look at the possibility of using porcelain inlays or onlays to correct the problems. An inlay will help recreate the tooth and resist further decay, gingivitis, and pain. Onlays will actually cover the tooth and serve as I protector for a tooth and is more conservative than a crown. Onlays and Inlays tend to last longer than fillings.
